Denver

Denver is quite the golden package with a love to retrieve, a devoted spirit and an eagerness to please temperament. At home, she is oftentimes seen carrying a ball ever ready for a game of fetch. She is an active girl with a love of water that is equal to her parent's. Her alertness and eagerness make her the perfect girl to train. At the same time, Denver has a sweetness about her that makes her a wonderful therapy dog. She is a very friendly, sweetheart of a girl!

Denver is put together well with sure footedness and a smooth, well coordinated gait. She is well muscled and well balanced, ideal for performance sports. The combination of her beautiful dark pigment and rich golden color is stunning.

Therapy

During much of her younger life, Denver visited a skilled living facility. She passed her therapy dog test via Therapy Dogs International in May of 2019. Her sweet spirit & respectfulness of people’s personal space make her a very special therapy dog.

Dock Diving

Following in her Mother's footsteps, Denver began dock diving in 2016 when she earned her Dock Novice title in the NADD Pet Essentials Fall PAW Dive where she was awarded the Top Diving Dog in the Novice Division.

Rally

Denver's obedient nature lends itself to rally and obedience training. With two rally titles under her belt, we plan to work toward rally advanced, as well as the CD. She earned two legs toward her Rally Novice title at the Roanoke Kennel Club in the fall of 2017, and went on to earn her final RN leg at the Dog Trainers Workshop in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, at their Rally Trials event held in February of 2019. Two months later, she earned her Rally Intermediate title in April of 2019 at the Winston Salem Dog Training Club.

Fast CAT

Fast CAT is a fun performance sport in which dogs run a 100 yard dash chasing a lure. Denver began Fast CAT in March of 2019 at Carolina Training Center where her fastest run was 23.27 mph. Our agile girl excels and enjoys performance events where the look of sheer delight and excitement makes those events worth the time and effort for the simple pleasure such a sport brings to her.

Brylin Obedience Specialty School

Denver has benefited from various classes at Brylin Obedience Specialty School and we enjoy participating in a range events held at their facility (Fast CAT, Farm Dog, CGC, IABCA, Family Dog, Scent class and swimming in their pool).

A wonderful practice opportunity with the IABCA presented itself at Brylin in 2018. As a regular at Brylin, we took advantage of a few of their shows to have Denver assessed by three judges where we were able to have hands on critiques. The shows were good experiences for Denver in the show ring; however, the critiques were the main reason for them.

Denver ran six qualifying runs in a Fast CAT three day weekend event held at their facility when she earned her BCAT title in April of 2019. She earned her novice trick title that weekend as well and has since earned a Farm Dog Certified title.

GRCA CCA

More importantly, was the CCA event held by Sandlapper in 2019, where she was critiqued by three breed judges, one of which was Gayle Watkins. The CCA experience was very helpful in having Denver assessed and making breeding plans based upon those assessments.

2020/2021

Denver trained for three months toward her JH and CD with Nancy Clinchy at Bridgeton Retrievers in 2020. We brought her home during the pandemic. On June 1, 2021, Denver had her last litter of pups, Abe x Denver. She will be officially retired from our breeding program once the pups are weaned. Pictured to the right are Reese, an up and coming, as well as Siri, who are the next generation.
